Pakistan was recently whitewashed in the three-match Test series at home against England. Since then, criticism has been hurled at the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the captain and the management. In the face of that criticism, PCB president Ramiz Raja lost his post. Former PCB president Najam Sethi is going to replace him.

Earlier in 2021, at the request of the country’s then-Prime Minister Imran Khan, Ramiz was appointed as the PCB president unopposed. This former cricketer has done a good job since taking charge. He has also taken several commendable steps to change Pakistan cricket. Babar Azmar also succeeded in his plan.

But what is the heart? In Pakistan, the board leaders lost their posts as soon as the government changed. This is quite old. That is why it is feared since the ouster of Imran, Ramiz can lose his post at any time. Finally, that fear became a reality. Ramiz Raja was sacked from the post of president on Wednesday. Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif will install Shetty in the chair of the president.

When Imran became Prime Minister in 2018, Sethi was the PCB president. But Sethi lost the post after Imran came to power. Maybe this time he took that revenge. Sethi removed Imran’s favorite from the post of board head. At the same time, he is occupying his lost position. But how to do in the new challenge is also a matter to be seen.

It should be noted that Ramiz played cricket for a total of 14 years in Pakistan’s jersey from 1984 to 1997. He has represented his country in 57 Tests and 198 ODI matches. The name of this cricketer is associated with great success for the country. After ending his playing career, he joined the commentary team. He has earned a reputation there. As an administrator, he cannot be said to be too bad.
