BPL 2022 – Match 25 (Khulna Tigers vs Minister Group Dhaka)

In the 25th BPL 2022, Minister Group Dhaka defeated Khulna Tigers by 5 wickets at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Wednesday. The Tigers won the toss and elected to bat first, they lost 8 wickets and scored 129 runs in 20 overs.

Sikandar Raza hit 5 fours and 4 sixes and top-scored with 64 off 50 balls for the Tigers. Besides, Mahedi Hasan scored 17, and Mushfiqur Rahim and Thisara Perera both played two innings of 12 runs. Arafat Sunny and Azmatullah Omarzai took the maximum number of two wickets each for the Minister Group.

Chasing an easy target of 130 runs, the Minister Group reached the victory port by losing 5 wickets in 19.2 overs. For the team, captain Mahmudullah top-scored with 34 off 36 balls. In addition, Jahurul Islam (30) and Shamsur Rahman (25) played two effective innings. Thisara Perera took the highest number of 2 wickets for the Tigers.

After winning this match, Minister Group Dhaka has risen to 3rd place in the points table. On the other hand, after losing, Khulna Tigers are now in 4th place in the points table.

BPL 2022 – Match 26 (Comilla Victorians vs Sylhet Sunrisers)

Comilla Victorians won over Sylhet Sunrisers by 4 wickets in the second match of Wednesday’s doubleheader in BPL 2022 at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium thanks to the outstanding performance of Mahmudul Hasan Joy and Mustafizur Rahman. After losing the toss, Sunrisers went down to bat first and scored 169 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.

Opener Colin Ingram played a devastating inning of 89 off 63 balls with 9 fours and 3 sixes for the Sunrisers. In addition, Anamul Haque scored 46, and Lendl Simmons scored 16 runs. Mustafiz took the maximum number of 3 wickets, conceding 23 runs in 4 overs for the Victorians. Besides, Sunil Narine and Tanvir Islam took one wicket each.

Chasing a challenging target of 170 runs, the Victorians reached the port of victory after losing 6 wickets in 19.5 overs. Mahmudul played the match-winning innings of 65 runs from 50 balls with 7 fours and 2 sixes for the team. Besides, Moeen Ali scored 46 off 35 balls and Narine remained unbeaten after playing a stormy inning of 24 off 12 balls. Nazmul Islam and Alauddin Babu took the maximum number of 2 wickets each for the Sunrisers.

After winning this match, Comilla Victorians rose to 2nd place in the points table and confirmed the play-offs. On the other hand, Sylhet Sunrisers, who have already been eliminated from the tournament, are still at the bottom of the points table.

IND vs WI (2nd ODI)

With a 44-run victory over the visiting West Indies in the second ODI at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad yesterday, the hosts India secured the series 2-0 with one match remaining. After losing the toss, India batted first and scored 237 runs for the loss of 9 wickets. The Caribbeans were all out for 193 runs in 46 overs in reply.

India changed their batting order yesterday. Rishabh Pant came on the field to start the innings with Rohit Sharma. KL Rahul was dropped down to four to strengthen the middle order. But their plan did not work. Rohit was out scoring just 5 runs. Pant, who was trying to form a partnership with Kohli, got 18 runs after playing a bad shot. Kohli also returned to the dressing room, making 18 runs.

Suryakumar Yadav and Rahul put on 91 runs for the fourth wicket partnership. Rahul (49) returned to the dressing room when the team total was 134 runs. However, Suryakumar completed half a hundred runs, and he returned with a personal 64 off the team’s 177 runs. Besides, Washington Sundar scored 24, and Deepak Hooda scored 29 runs. In the end, India could make 237 runs by losing 9 wickets in 50 overs.

The Caribbeans lost 5 wickets for 76 runs after coming down to chase the target of 238 runs. After that, Shamarh Brooks, Akeal Hosein, Odean Smith tried but could not win. Brooks scored the highest 44 runs for the team. Akeal scored 34 runs. Shai Hope scored 27, and Odean made 24 runs. India’s pacer Prasidh Krishna bowled 9 overs and took 4 wickets, giving only 12 runs, including 3 maidens.
