The 37th match of the BBL 2021/22 between Melbourne Renegades and Brisbane Heat, the 36th match of the BBL 2021/22 between Perth Scorchers and Sydney Thunder, and the 4th day of the 2nd Test between South Africa and India rolled on the field yesterday. BBL 2021/22 – Match 37 (Melbourne Renegades vs Brisbane Heat)

In the 37th match of BBL 2021/22, Melbourne Renegades have picked up a big victory by 5 wickets with 30 balls to spare against Brisbane Heat at the GMHBA Stadium in Geelong. After losing the toss and opting to bat first, the Heat was able to score 127 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the allotted 20 overs due to the bowling cannon of the Renegades’ bowlers.

Jake Lehmann played the highest innings of 65 runs from 52 balls for the Heat. Jack Clayton scored 15 and Steven McGiffin scored 14 runs. For Renegades, Mohammad Nabi, Zahir Khan, and Kane Richardson took the maximum number of two wickets each.

Chasing an easy target of 129 runs, Renegades lost 5 wickets and reached the port of victory in just 15 overs. Shaun Marsh played a devastating inning of 57 off 35 balls with 6 fours and 3 sixes for the team. Aaron Finch scored 37 off 28 balls and captain Nic Maddinson was unbeaten 22 off 14 balls. David Grant took the maximum number of 3 wickets for the Heat.

After winning this match, Melbourne Renegades has risen to 5th place in the points table. On the other hand, the Brisbane Heat are now at 6th place in the points table.

BBL 2021/22 – Match 36 (Perth Scorchers vs Sydney Thunder)

The Sydney Thunder has won by 6 wickets with 6 balls to spare against the Perth Scorchers at the Metricon Stadium in Gold Coast on a rain-interrupted day in the 36th match of BBL 2021/22. After winning the toss and choosing to bat first, due to the great bowling of the Thunder’s bowlers, the Scorchers were able to score 133 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 18 overs (due to rain).

Cameron Bancroft scored the best 30 runs off 31 balls for the Scorchers. Ashton Agar (22) and Laurie Evans (20) also played two small innings for the team. Gurinder Sandhu took the maximum number of 4 wickets for 22 runs in 4 overs for Thunder. Saqib Mahmood took 2 wickets, and Daniel Sams and Chris Green took 1 wicket each.

Chasing an easy target of 134 runs, Thunder lost just 4 wickets in 17 overs and reached the port of victory. Jason Sangha played the highest innings of 34 runs from 26 balls with 2 fours and 2 sixes for the team. Matthew Gilkes scored 32 off 23 balls and Alex Hales scored 26 off 32 balls. Andrew Tye took 2 wickets and Matthew Kelly took 1 wicket each for the Scorchers.

After winning this match, Sydney Thunder has risen to 3rd place in the points table. Despite losing, Perth Scorchers are still at the top of the points table.

SA vs IND (2nd Test – Day 4)

On the fourth day of the second Test of the series in Johannesburg, the host South Africa secured a big victory by 7 wickets against visiting India. As a result of this victory, South Africa has also leveled the three-match Test series by 1-1.

At the end of the third day, South Africa needed 122 runs and India needed 8 wickets to win. But from the beginning of the fourth day, it started to drizzle. However, the first two sessions of the fourth day were completely washed away in the rain, but in the third session, the game rolled on the field.

The hosts started the fourth day with 118 runs for the loss of 2 wickets and Dean Elgar (46) and Rassie van der Dussen (11) were at the crease. Temba Bavuma came on the wicket when Rassie van der Dussen fell victim to Mohammed Shami and returned to the dressing room. Later, Elgar scored an unbeaten 96 and Bavuma scored an unbeaten 23 to lead the team to victory.

Proteas captain Dean Elgar was named Player of the Match for his unbeaten 96 off 188 balls with 10 boundaries in the second innings. The two teams will meet in Cape Town on January 11 in the third and final match of the series.
