AUS vs WI (2nd Test) – Highlights

The final match of the 2-match Test series between Australia and the West Indies began on Thursday, December 8 at the Adelaide Oval, Adelaide, Australia. In that match, in the first innings again with a pair of centuries, Australia built a huge mountain of runs and declared the innings. After that, West Indies went down to bat in the 1st innings and before playing 100 overs they wrapped up. Then Australia came to bat in the 2nd innings, and after batting for some time they announced the innings. But in the 2nd innings, West Indies lost all wickets again. As a result, they left the field with a huge run margin. On the other hand, Australia won the series by winning 2 matches. Apart from this, Travis Head won the Man of the Match title and Marnus Labuschagne won the Man of the Series award with great batting.

Australia won the first test by a huge margin of 164 runs. In the second and final Test at Adelaide, Australia won the toss and elected to bat. Australia indicated a big run on the first day when they came out to bat. The Aussies scored 330 runs for 3 wickets after batting 89 overs. Labuschagne was unbeaten on 120 runs. Travis Head was unbeaten on 114 runs with him. On the second day, Labuschagne got out after adding 43 more runs to his innings. 

Earlier, David Warner got out after scoring 21 runs. Usman Khawaja was dismissed for 62 runs after playing 129 balls. However, Steven Smith could not open the account of run. Played only 8 balls. Besides, Travis Head played an innings of 175 runs off 219 balls. He also hit 20 fours. Alex Carey scored 41 runs. In the end, Australia announced the innings by building a mountain of 511 runs for 7 wickets with the pair of centuries of Travis Head and Marnus Labuschagne.

Alzarri Joseph and Devon Thomas took two wickets each for West Indies.

In response, West Indies lost 10 wickets to score 214 runs in the 1st innings. Tagenarine Chanderpaul scored the most runs for them. He scored 47 runs off 102 balls. Besides, Anderson Phillip scored 43 runs, Roston Chase scored 34 runs, and Joshua da Silva scored 23 runs. At the end of the 1st innings, West Indies were leading by 297 runs. 

Nathan Lyon took 3 wickets for Australia and Michael Neser and Mitchell Starc took 2 wickets each.

In the 2nd innings, Australia announced the innings after 199 runs, losing 6 wickets and playing 31 overs, and gave a lead of 496 runs. Usman Khawaja scored the most runs for them in that innings, he scored 45 runs with the help of 7 fours in 50 balls. Besides, David Warner 28, Marnus Labuschagne 31, Steven Smith 35, and Travis Head scored 38 runs.

In the 2nd innings, after going down to bat for a target of 497 runs, West Indies lost all their wickets and scored only 77 runs. No one can score more than 17 runs for them. As a result, they have to leave the field with a loss of 419 runs.

Mitchell Starc, Michael Neser, and Scott Boland took 3 wickets each for Australia. Besides, Nathan Lyon took 1 wicket.
