Top three fastest Pakistani bowlers of all-time

Pakistan Cricket team is known for producing top-quality fast bowlers and has been doing it over the years. Pakistani pacers come up with unplayable or deadly bouncers that can deceive any batter in the world. Over the decade, Pakistani fast bowlers have been quite successful on the green pitches. Their pace and swing can be a nightmare for the batters. In this article, we will mention the top three fastest bowlers from Pakistan over the years.

3. Mohammad Sami – 148.8 kmph

The former fast bowler was known for consistently touching the speed of 145 km/h. He also unofficially bowled the fastest delivery in cricket when he clocked the speed of 164 km/h but later it was discarded due to technical failure in the speeding machine. His highest speed is 148.8 km/h during an ODI match against New Zealand. Pakistan won that match by 8 wickets by successfully chasing the target of 267 runs. He has played 36 Tests, 87 ODIs and 13 T20Is for Pakistan taking 227 wickets across the formats.

2. Waqar Younis – 153 kmph

One of the greatest fast bowlers, Pakistan have produced.  Waqar Younis was the right-arm pacer who was known for his ability to swing the ball both ways and possess devastating inswinging yorker. His fastest delivery was clocked at 153 km/h against South Africa in 1993. Younis has appeared in 87 Tests and 262 ODIs for Pakistan taking 789 wickets across the formats.

Undoubtedly the fastest bowler ever in World Cricket. Shoaib Akhtar dominates the chart for the fastest deliveries by bowlers in international cricket. The first six names on the list of fastest deliveries are of him. His fastest delivery clocked at 161 km/h which is also the fastest delivery in cricket. He used to start his run-up from the boundary line and produce a deadly delivery that can deceive any batter in the world. In his 46 Tests, 163 ODIs, and 15 T20Is for Pakistan, Akhtar has taken 444 wickets across the formats.
