Inzamam is the greatest batsman Pakistan has ever produced. Before being well-known during the 1992 World Cup, he had an impact on the sidelines of games after making his debut in 1991. By scoring a critical 60 against New Zealand in the semifinals, he enabled Pakistan to advance to the finals.

With 20,541, Inzamam now holds the record for most runs scored in a career in Pakistan. He is their top scorer in ODIs as well. 

 

4. Shahid Afridi

The moniker “Boom Boom Afridi” is not a coincidence. Afridi is one of the damaging, forceful, and aggressive batsmen in cricket. The best all-around player Pakistan has ever seen, he is also. ODI and T20I unstoppable, but not the best performer in tests.

Afridi held the record for the quickest century, coming off just 37 pitches, for 17 years. Afridi has 11,148 runs scored and 538 wickets taken in his career. Afridi is one of just three all-rounders in history to have scored 10,000 runs and 500 wickets.

3. Imran Khan

The quick bowling tradition in Pakistan was started by the legendary Imran Khan. Khan was Pakistan’s first potent fast bowler and was motivated by Denis Lillie. He was an all-around player who made his debut for his country at the age of 18.

Imran was a daring and vicious bowler who concluded his career with 544 wickets after frequently shaking opponents’ stumps. Pakistan’s third-highest wicket-taker overall in all formats. 

Imran stopped playing cricket in 1987, but he won them the 1992 World Cup after being pushed to resume. He was instrumental in helping Pakistan win the World Cup for the first time ever with a knock of 72 during the finals.

In addition to his contributions with the bat and the bowl to Pakistan’s cricket, it is thought that he was the driving force behind the discoveries made by Wasim Akram, Inzamam-ul-Haq, and Waqar Younis.

He is credited for discovering Wasim Akram, Inzamam-ul-Haq, and Waqar Younis in addition to helping Pakistan’s cricket squad with his bat and bowling.

 

2. Waqar Younis
