Pakistan reached the final by defeating Afghanistan, what did Babar-Nabi say?

Pakistan snatched victory against Afghanistan in a highly competitive match in Sharjah. With this victory, Pakistan reached the final of this year’s Asia Cup. And Afghanistan was knocked out of the tournament. Pakistan will fight against Sri Lanka in Sunday’s final.

“Honestly, it was quite a tense atmosphere in the dressing room in the last minute. We couldn’t build a partnership like we did in the last few matches, but everyone saw the way Naseem finished,” said Babar, an elated Pakistan captain after defeating Afghanistan.

Talking about Pakistan pacer Naseem Shah, who hit two consecutive sixes in the last over, Babar recalled an India-Pakistan match and said, “I was in the dressing room in the last over. At that time, I thought to myself that this is cricket, and I saw Naseem batting like that. I had a bit of faith. It reminded me of Javed Miad’s six in Sharjah.”

Meanwhile, despite reaching the threshold of victory, Afghanistan failed in the end. However, Afghan captain Mohammad Nabi thanked the fans for their support. He said, “We thought it would be difficult to chase 130 runs. The fielders supported the bowlers a lot. We gave the bowlers two options, the slower ball and the yorker. But unfortunately, we couldn’t execute it when we needed it. Thanks to the fans for the support.”

Meanwhile, India is facing Afghanistan in the last match of the Asia Cup today. It is a regulation match as both teams have finished the Asia Cup. However, both teams will want to end the tournament with a win. Sri Lanka and Pakistan will meet in the final on Sunday. The match will be at 8 pm Bangladesh time.
