If you thought IPL 2025 couldn’t become any more insane, you are mistaken. Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals put on one of the great games of the season at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, ending with the white knuckled chaos of a Super Over. You could almost feel the tension through your screen, and if you were lucky enough to be at the stadium, if you had a voice, it probably left you by now.
DC would take the win against RR in the last possible moment, but this match was about much more than the outcome. It provided plenty of fireworks, drama, and most importantly, some phenomenal records that may have gone unnoticed. Let us review three milestones that added a spark to an already electrifying evening.
Nitish Rana’s Double Century of T20 Appearances

Nitish Rana’s 200th T20 appearance couldn’t have played out from a better script. The stage was set beautifully, a close game, a high-pressure chase, and the left-hander coming out on a mission to get 51 from 28 balls, with hardly any pace on the ball. Smashing the ball all around the park, including a couple of sixes, Rana looked the real deal.
What was most impressive about this was how quietly this young man has gone about his business whilst cementing his career. Starting Man of the Match for the Mumbai Indians to clutch performer for Rajasthan, Rana has evolved from a promising young player to a dependable middle-order bat. 4,799 T20 runs, 1 century and 32 fifties – Rana gets a lot of mileage out of the figures he has posted, and 200 appearances is a true reflection of his consistency and hard work. Sure, RR walked away with a loss this time, but Rana gave it everything, and his accomplishment should not go unnoticed.
Super Over Kings? DC Now Hold the Record

Let’s be honest, no one enjoys a Super Over. It is messy, it is thrilling, and it is heart-thumping stressful when they are practically nothing between them to win the match. But looks like the Delhi Capitals are having fun. After this nail-biting win, DC now has four Super Overs in IPL history- more than any other franchise.
Yes, more than the Punjab Kings, who previously had the record at three. And just to be clear, there is a good chance we could have seen very different results if a little luck had decided to factor in. When Rajasthan managed 11 in their Super Over, we could have predicted just about anything. But DC sent out Rahul and Stubbs to bat, and they both performed just like it was a typical game, adding a six and a four in the last two balls. Maybe they are still looking for their first title, but when it comes to close finishes, the DC has written the handbook.
KL Rahul’s Sky-High Sixes

It’s easy to forget that Rahul has switched between formats and folded in roles across teams (putting on pads to wicket-keeping, sometimes opening, sometimes captain, and almost always behind the stumps), but what has never changed for me is his elegant clean hitting in terms of power-hitting and just one more six for 200—bet you it will come in the next match. To see him hit those signature pick-up shots over midwicket is pure poetry, with the bonus of kicking us further down the line of wicketkeeper-batter stats.
So, what do you think, will KL hit his 200th six in the next? And will DC succeed all the way this season? Comments below!
