The league is played in a T-10 format against clubs from all around Europe that have won national championships in their respective states. Eight clubs participated in the 2019 competition, which was held at La Manga Club in Spain. After defeating SG Findorff by 101 runs in the championship game, VOC Rotterdam was declared the winner. It was watched live on television and streamed by more than 40 broadcasters to over 140 million households in over 120 countries.

The ECL has been released in three editions, the first one in 2019. The first edition, which had 30 teams, was won by VOC Rotterdam, while the 2022 edition was won by Pak I Care Badalona. The French team Dreux Ville Royale emerged victorious in 2023.
