The Guyana Amazon Warriors continue their unbeaten streak in the 2023 Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League (CPL) and have secured a coveted spot in Qualifier 1 with a convincing seven-wicket victory over the Jamaica Tallawahs at Providence.

Despite a strong opening performance by Brandon King, who displayed his prowess as an opener, the Jamaica Tallawahs struggled to find their rhythm and were limited to a total of 152/5 after their allotted 20 overs.

The home team embarked on their chase with a dream start, as openers Saim Ayub and Matthew Nandu orchestrated a magnificent 112-run partnership, firmly establishing the Amazon Warriors’ control over the game. Ayub’s exceptional innings of 85 runs proved pivotal in guiding the Guyana Amazon Warriors to a comfortable and comprehensive victory.

In a pulsating encounter, the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots secured their first triumph of the 2023 Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League (CPL) with a thrilling four-wicket win over the Saint Lucia Kings.

The Patriots won the toss and opted to field first, and the 22-year-old spinner, Ashmead Nedd, delivered a clinical performance that helped restrain the Saint Lucia Kings to a total of 149/7 after 20 overs. Shadrack Descartes resilient innings, contributing 43 runs off 31 balls, stood out for the Kings.

The Patriots’ chase was nothing short of spectacular, largely thanks to an outstanding innings by Andre Fletcher. His unbeaten 93 not out was the driving force that carried the Patriots over the finish line with just one ball to spare.
