CSK vs GT (67th Match) – Highlights
Chennai Super Kings delivered a masterclass in power-hitting and clinical bowling to hammer Gujarat Titans by a massive margin of 83 runs in the 67th match of the 2025 IPL at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. CSK, already out of playoff contention and languishing at the bottom of the table, showed no signs of pressure and played like a champion side, thrashing the table-toppers Gujarat Titans in front of their home crowd.
Batting first after losing the toss, CSK came out blazing. The young gun fired early—34 off 17—and just when it sizzled, Prasidh Krishna iced the flame. Devon Conway anchored the innings beautifully, scoring a fluent 52 off 35 deliveries, laced with six fours and two sixes. Just when the plot felt settled, Brevis grabbed the script and lit it on fire. Walking in with 7 overs to spare, Brevis unleashed a breathtaking assault, scoring 57 off just 23 balls at a strike rate of 247.82. His innings included four boundaries and five towering sixes, earning him the Player of the Match award.
With Urvil’s quickfire cameo and Jadeja’s composed finishing act, CSK stitched chaos and calm into a 230-run masterpiece. Gujarat’s bowling looked toothless, barring a tidy spell from Prasidh Krishna, who returned with figures of 2 for 22. The rest of the attack bled runs, with Arshad Khan and Gerald Coetzee being particularly expensive.
Chasing 231, GT’s only option was to treat the powerplay like a sprint, not a stroll. Instead, they stumbled early. Captain Shubman Gill fell cheaply for 13, Jos Buttler followed suit for 5, and Sherfane Rutherford bagged a duck. Sai Sudharsan was the lone warrior with a fighting 41 off 28 balls, but wickets kept tumbling at regular intervals. Ravindra Jadeja struck twice in his three overs, and Noor Ahmad picked up 3 for 21, dismantling the middle order with guile.
Anshul Kamboj, the uncapped pacer, was the surprise package, claiming 3 for 13 in 2.3 overs, including the prized scalps of Gill, Rutherford, and Sai Kishore. The Titans never found momentum and folded for 147 in 18.3 overs. Arshad Khan’s 20 off 14 and a couple of lusty blows from Rashid Khan and Tewatia were never going to be enough against a disciplined CSK bowling unit.
With this win, CSK gave their fans something to cheer for in an otherwise forgettable season. As for Gujarat, the loss is a timely reminder before the playoffs that complacency can cost them dearly.
