Anureet Singh and Manpreet Gony rattled the top order, reducing the Lions to 2-2 early in the innings. Lasith Lakshan tried to stabilize the chase with a gritty 35 off 32 balls, but the pressure of a rising required run rate forced him to take risks, ultimately leading to his dismissal by Jakati.

Captain Thisara Perera, usually known for his explosive batting, failed to make a significant impact, scoring just 10 runs before gifting his wicket to Dhawan at mid-off. Eventually, the Lions were bowled out for 115 in 19.2 overs, falling 46 runs short of the target.
