Despite a late flourish from Sarah Bryce, who struck a six off her only ball, Delhi Capitals Women ended their innings at 177/5 in 20 overs.

Gujarat Giants Women, set a target of 178, had a shaky start as Dayalan Hemalatha fell early. Beth Mooney, the wicketkeeper-batter, anchored the innings with a composed 44 off 35 balls before getting dismissed in the 12th over. Harleen Deol then took charge, displaying her class with elegant strokes and powerful hitting. She formed a crucial partnership with Ashleigh Gardner, who chipped in with 22 runs at a brisk pace.

The game took an exciting turn when Deandra Dottin walked in and launched a brutal assault on the bowlers. Her 24 runs off just 10 balls included two fours and two sixes, significantly reducing the required run rate. Although Dottin and Phoebe Litchfield fell in quick succession, Deol held her nerves, ensuring Gujarat reached the target comfortably. Among Delhi’s bowlers, Shikha Pandey and Jess Jonassen picked up two wickets each, but they struggled to contain Gujarat’s aggressive batting lineup. Annabel Sutherland had an off day, conceding 46 runs in her four overs without taking a wicket. Marizanne Kapp was economical, but the lack of breakthroughs cost Delhi dearly.
