TSK vs LAKR (5th Match) – Highlights

Like a well-oiled Texas machine, the Super Kings rolled over LA’s ambitions with precision and power in MLC’s fifth face-off. A well-rounded effort with the bat and a magical bowling spell from Noor Ahmad ensured Texas cruised to their second win of the season.

Batting first, Texas got off to a decent start despite losing skipper Faf du Plessis early for just 8. Devon Conway looked in sublime touch, timing the ball sweetly as he powered his way to 34 off 22 balls. He was well supported by Saiteja Mukkamalla, who played a fluent knock of 31 from 22 deliveries, showing his growing maturity in the middle order.

The middle phase was anchored by Daryl Mitchell, who remained unbeaten on 36 off 33 balls, playing the sheet anchor’s role. But it was Donovan Ferreira who provided the finishing flourish. The South African all-rounder lit up the death overs with a blistering 32 off just 16 balls, propelling the total to an imposing 181 for 4 in 20 overs. The Knight Riders bowlers, especially Andre Russell, bore the brunt of the late assault, conceding 53 runs in his four overs.

Chasing a daunting target of 182, the Knight Riders crumbled under pressure right from the start. Adam Milne struck early, trapping Andre Fletcher LBW for just 2. Alex Hales provided some fireworks with a quick 25 off 17 balls, but his dismissal triggered a collapse. Unmukt Chand’s 22 was steady but lacked the acceleration needed in a chase of this magnitude.

While others played their parts, Noor Ahmad rewrote the script and took a standing ovation. The left-arm wrist spinner tore through the middle and lower order, claiming 4 wickets for just 25 runs in his 4 overs. He dismissed the dangerous Andre Russell and Sunil Narine in the same over, breaking the back of the Knight Riders’ batting lineup. Matthew Tromp played a brief cameo of 23 from 12, and Shadley van Schalkwyk added 27, but it was far from enough.

Adam Milne and Stephen Wiig also made vital contributions with the ball, picking up 2 wickets each and applying relentless pressure. Los Angeles folded for just 124 in 17.1 overs, falling short by a massive margin of 57 runs.
