Yashasvi Jaiswal became only the third Indian cricketer to play his first 30 Test matches at 30 different venues when he took the field at Galle International Stadium against Sri Lanka on August 15, 2026. The milestone placed the young left-handed opener in the company of two Indian batting legends, Sachin Tendulkar and Sanjay Manjrekar.

Jaiswal had made his Test debut against West Indies in Roseau in July 2023, and every Test appearance since then has been at a fresh venue. His 30 grounds span multiple continents and include some of the most celebrated Test arenas in the world.

In the Galle Test itself, Jaiswal scored 32 off 37 deliveries, hitting four boundaries before his innings ended in unfortunate fashion. He was run out following a collision with Sri Lankan fielder Keshara Nuwantha during a mix-up with KL Rahul. India had batted first after captain Shubman Gill won the toss and chose to bat.

Which Indian cricketers share this rare Test venue record?

Jaiswal is the third Indian to achieve this distinction, after Sanjay Manjrekar and Sachin Tendulkar. Tendulkar featured at 32 separate venues across his first 32 Test matches, while Manjrekar went even further, playing his first 33 Tests at 33 different grounds. Jaiswal has now matched the early stage of that sequence through his 30th appearance.

The feat reflects the volume and variety of international cricket that modern players are exposed to, with India regularly hosting Tests across multiple domestic venues while also touring extensively overseas. Jaiswal’s record through 30 Tests covers grounds in the Caribbean, South Africa, India, Australia, England and Sri Lanka. The consistency with which he has appeared at a new venue each time underlines just how demanding and wide-ranging his early Test career has been, and how rarely scheduling alone produces such an outcome across so many matches.

Which venues featured in Jaiswal’s first 30 Tests?

Jaiswal’s 30 Test venues include Port of Spain, Centurion, Cape Town, Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Rajkot, Ranchi, Dharamsala, Chennai, Kanpur, Bengaluru, Pune, Mumbai, Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, Leeds, Birmingham, Lord’s, Manchester, The Oval, Ahmedabad, Delhi, Kolkata, Guwahati, New Chandigarh and Galle, along with his debut ground in Roseau.
