WTC 2025-27 Points Table: Here's a look at latest standings after Sri Lanka win series over Bangladesh

The World Test Championship (WTC) 2025–27 cycle began with multiple action across continents. Sri Lanka and Australia have made strong starts with convincing wins, while India and Bangladesh missed early opportunities despite promising performances.

Sri Lanka hosted Bangladesh for a two-match Test series, beginning with a run-fest in Galle where the match ended in a draw. Both teams earned four points each. However, in the second Test at Colombo, the hosts dominated by securing victory by an innings and 78 runs with the help from Prabath Jayasuriya’s five-wicket haul, sealing a 1-0 series win and their first WTC points through a win.

Meanwhile, Australia began their WTC campaign in commanding fashion by thrashing West Indies inside three days in the first Test at Barbados on June 27. Josh Hazlewood led the charge with a five-wicket haul in the second innings, ensuring Australia cruised to a 159-run victory.

India’s opening Test of their five-match series against England at Headingley, Leeds, ended in disappointment. Despite scoring over 800 runs and notching up five centuries, two of them by Rishabh Pant, India could not defend a 371-run target, losing by five wickets.

The second India vs England Test begins on July 2 at Edgbaston, while West Indies and Australia will meet for the second Test of their three-match series on July 3 in Grenada.

Reigning WTC champions South Africa are yet to begin their campaign in the fresh cycle. On the other hand, 2021 champions New Zealand alongside Pakistan are also to play their first respective series in the 2025-27 cycle, which does not add anything to their name on Points Table so far.
