The ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2025–27 standings have undergone a significant shake-up after a series of crucial results, with India making a strong comeback, and Australia extending their lead.

After a poor start in the first Test at Headingley, India bounced back in style in the second Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, crushing England by 336 runs at Edgbaston. This victory marked India’s first-ever win at Edgbaston against the hosts after nine attempts and lifted them to third place in the WTC standings.

Captain Shubman Gill led from the front with a phenomenal match performance, scoring a record 430 runs in both innings combined, while Akash Deep impressed with a 10-wicket match haul. England, who began the match ahead of India, dropped to fourth place after the loss.

In another key WTC clash, Australia registered a 133-run win over West Indies in the second Test at St George’s, securing an unassailable lead in the three-match series. The match was a low-scoring thriller, where bowlers from both sides dominated across all four innings. With two wins from two matches, Australia now sit comfortably at the top of the WTC 2025–27 table. Meanwhile, West Indies remain at sixth, with two losses in as many matches.

Sri Lanka edged past Bangladesh 1-0 in their two-Test series, with the first Test ending in a draw. The island nation now holds second place in the table with 16 points, while Bangladesh are at the fifth spot, having secured four points from the drawn fixture.

South Africa are currently engaged in a two-match Test series against Zimbabwe, which does not form part of the WTC cycle. The Proteas won the first Test, and in the ongoing second Test, Wiaan Mulder stood out with a remarkable 264* on Day 1 at Bulawayo.

As of now, South Africa, Pakistan, and New Zealand are yet to play their first matches in the current WTC cycle.
