Rohit Sharma and his team will be aiming to dominate their arch-rivals Pakistan and Bangladesh, following their impressive six-wicket victory against five-time champions Australia in their World Cup opener in Chennai.

This will be India’s first encounter with Pakistan since the 2023 Asia Cup, where India emerged victorious by a margin of 228 runs, thanks to centuries from Virat Kohli and KL Rahul.

In World Cup history, Team India holds a perfect record of seven wins against Pakistan. Their most recent encounter in the tournament resulted in an 89-run victory for India via the DLS method in 2019. Pakistan will be eager to narrow the gap and make it 7-1, especially after their wins against the Netherlands and Sri Lanka in the first two matches of the 2023 World Cup.

Interestingly, India’s previous match against Bangladesh also took place during the 2023 Asia Cup, with Bangladesh winning by a margin of six runs. This victory will undoubtedly boost their confidence going into the match against India.
