India and West Indies will play a three-match ODI series starting on July 27 at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados. The second ODI will be played on July 29 at the same venue, and the third and final ODI will be played on August 1 at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba, Trinidad and Tobago.
West Indies will be looking to rebuild their ODI side after failing to qualify for the 2023 World Cup. They have recalled Shimron Hetmyer and Oshane Thomas to the squad but will be without Keemo Paul, Nicholas Pooran, and Jason Holder.
India won the two-match Test series 1-0 and will be looking to continue their winning momentum in the ODI series. They have recalled Spin duo of Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal and included uncapped pacer Mukesh Kumar in the squad.
Virat Kohli will be looking to break his record of 10 centuries against the opposition in ODIs. He has scored 2261 runs at an average of 66.50 in ODIs against West Indies, with nine centuries and 11 half-centuries.
Ravindra Jadeja will be looking to break Kapil Dev’s record of most wickets against West Indies for India. Jadeja has picked up 41 wickets in ODIs against West Indies at an average of 29.87. He needs three more wickets to break Dev’s record of 43 wickets. The Indian cricket team’s history against the West Indies has been healthy and hence, the upcoming series will be entertaining.
