Punjab Kings (PBKS) are about to take on Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Match 23 of the Indian Premier League 2024 (IPL 2024) at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur, Chandigarh. Punjab captain Shikhar Dhawan won the toss and invited SRH to bat first. Coming into the game on the back of a three-wicket win over Gujarat Titans (GT), Punjab didn’t make any changes to their winning combination.
However, they were once again without the services of their star all-rounder Liam Livingstone. The 30-year-old also missed out the previous game due to injury and captain Dhawan revealed at the toss that the English cricketer will take more time to fully recover.

Livingstone has been in good form with the bat this season having scored 83 runs from three innings at an average of 83 and a strike rate of 162.74. He played a match-winning innings in the opening game against Delhi Capitals (DC) and got involved in a crucial 67-run stand off 42 balls for the fifth wicket with Sam Curran.
SRH also going into the game unchanged
The right-handed batter remained unbeaten on 38* (21) with the help of two fours and three sixes as he helped his side chase down 175 in the last over. Livingstone further played another unbeaten knock of 28* (17) against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in their third fixture but failed to take his team over the line.
On the other hand, Sunrisers Hyderabad also didn’t make any changes to their playing XI coming on the back of a six-wicket win over Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
