Cricket fans have already enjoyed a memorable 2026, with major tournaments such as the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, the Indian Premier League (IPL), and the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup delivering plenty of thrilling moments. However, 2027 promises to be even bigger, with a packed calendar featuring iconic Test series, franchise cricket, continental tournaments, and the biggest prize in the ODI format.
The year begins with one of cricket’s fiercest rivalries as India and Australia renew battle in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The five-match Test series is scheduled from January 21 to March, with both teams expected to fight fiercely for supremacy in red-ball cricket.
While the Border-Gavaskar Trophy is underway, history will be made with the inaugural ICC Women’s Champions Trophy, scheduled from February 14 to 28. The tournament marks another significant step in the growth of women’s cricket and is expected to attract global attention.
Soon after, the focus shifts to the Indian Premier League, with the world’s biggest T20 league set to run from March 10 to May 15. The IPL will once again bring together the finest players from around the world, promising two months of high-quality entertainment.

The year reaches its grand finale with the 2027 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup, to be co-hosted by South Africa, Namibia, and Zimbabwe from October 4 to November 21. Twelve of the world’s best teams will compete for cricket’s most prestigious trophy, making 2027 a truly unforgettable year for fans across the globe.
