[WATCH] World Cup-winning captains Rohit Sharma, Harmanpreet Kaur, Deepika TC honoured at star-studded event

The Reliance Foundation organised ‘United in Triumph’ on Monday (January 5) in Mumbai to express gratitude and honour the World Cup heroes for their historic achievements. The event was graced by three World Cup-winning captains – Rohit Sharma, Harmanpreet Kaur, and Deepika TC. The three captains appeared on stage alongside Nita Ambani, founder and chairperson of the Reliance Foundation.
Rohit, a five-time IPL-winning captain with the Mumbai Indians, was accompanied by his wife Ritika Singh. Several other prominent cricketers were also present at the event, including Sachin Tendulkar, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Suryakumar Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Sunil Gavaskar, Smriti Mandhana, and Jemmiah Rodriguez, among others.

The event was organised to honour the three World Cup-winning teams. The Mumbai Indians owner expressed her gratitude to the three teams for bringing the nation joy and happiness.​

“All three cricket teams, the men’s cricket team, the women’s cricket team and the blind cricket team of India are all here under one roof, and on behalf of every Indian, we are going to honour them tonight for giving us so much joy and happiness”, Nita was quoted as saying by the Mint.

​Blind Women’s team honoured 

India Women’s cricket team created as they clinched the first-ever T20 World Cup for the blind. They remained unbeaten throughout the tournament and defeated Nepal by seven wickets in the final in Colombo, Sri Lanka, on November 23, 2025. The Indian team, led by Captain Deepika T.C., chased down 115 runs in 12.1 overs to clinch the title.

​On the other hand, Harmanpreet Kaur and co. achieved a historic milestone as they won their first-ever ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 by defeating South Africa in the final.
In 2024, Rohit Sharma led India to the T20 World Cup triumph, ending the T20 World Cup drought of 17 years. Virat Kohli was named Player of the Match for his splendid innings in the finals, whereas Jasprit Bumrah was named Player of the Series.
