Young batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi received a major boost ahead of India’s upcoming T20I series against Ireland, as his parents arrived in Belfast on Wednesday, June 24 to be with him during what could be a landmark moment in his young career.
The 15-year-old prodigy, who earned his maiden call-up to the Indian senior team for the T20I tours of Ireland and England, is widely tipped to make his international debut in the coming days. With anticipation surrounding his potential first appearance for the Men in Blue continuing to grow, the arrival of his parents has further heightened the excitement.
Vaibhav earned national recognition after a sensational IPL 2026 campaign, where he finished as the tournament’s leading run-scorer. The left-handed batter clinched the Orange Cap after amassing 776 runs at a staggering strike rate of 237.30, forcing his way into India’s T20I setup with a string of match-winning performances.
Videos circulating on social media showed Vaibhav’s parents arriving at Team India’s hotel in Belfast shortly after landing in Northern Ireland. The footage quickly gained traction online, with many fans viewing it as another sign that the teenager could soon achieve a historic milestone by representing India at just 15 years of age.

The most interesting part of the video is that alongside Vaibhav’s parents, Rajasthan Royals manager Romi Bhinder is also present to support the left-hander. For the unversed, he was the one who was taking care of Vaibhav throughout IPL 2026.
Earlier, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had confirmed that Vaibhav would be accompanied by his parents during the tour. BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia stated that the board felt parental support would play an important role in helping the youngster adjust to the demands of international cricket at such a young age.
The board has also arranged for Vaibhav’s parents to remain with him during the subsequent England tour, with all associated travel and accommodation expenses being covered by the BCCI.
