[WATCH] Vaibhav Sooryavanshi sets tone for run chase with special helicopter shot

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was on fire against Punjab Kings (PBKS), as Rajasthan Royals (RR) completed a comprehensive run chase of 223 in Match 40 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in New Chandigarh on Tuesday, April 28. As Lockie Ferguson threw a yorker at Sooryavanshi, the opening batter removed his front foot and executed a perfect helicopter shot for a six.

In just the second over of the second innings, Ferguson came in to bowl his first of the evening against an in-form Sooryavanshi. Without any hassle, the 15-year-old did not find any discomfort against the New Zealander and nonchalantly played a helicopter shot into the stands, channelling his left-hand version of the trademark MS Dhoni shot. Sooryavanshi scored 43 off 16 as the Royals completed a thrilling run chase to hand PBKS their first defeat of the season thus far.
