Watch: Shadab Khan’s one-handed stunner sends Mark Chapman back in PAK vs NZ 4th T20I

Mark Chapman was the Player of the Match in the third T20I but had to depart early in the fourth game of the five-match series after Shadab Khan’s brilliance on the field ended his stay at the crease.

The Kiwis got off to a brilliant start as they amassed 94 runs inside the first 11 overs. Chapman came out to bat at No. 4 after the fall of the wickets of Tom Blundell and Tim Robinson. The Kiwi batter, who scored an unbeaten 42-ball 87 and helped the tourists win the third T20I in Rawalpindi, faced eight balls and scored as many runs before trying to thrash a widish delivery from Iftikhar Ahmed through the cover region.

He backed away to make room to free his arms and established a decent connection with the ball. However, he didn’t have any intentions of keeping the ball along the carpet and that gave Shadab a chance to scramble quickly to his left and take an excellent catch with an outstretched right arm.

Shadab, who is one of Pakistan’s best fielders, twisted his body in the air and landed softly so that the ball doesn’t spill out upon impact with the ground. Chapman was left flummoxed as his stay ended for eight off nine balls. Pakistan players were understandably excited as they had seen something special unfold in front of their eyes.

New Zealand post 178/7 in first innings

Robinson gave the Blackcaps a dazzling start as he smashed 51 off 36 balls, hitting four fours and two sixes. Blundell, Dean Foxcroft and skipper Michael Bracewell got positive starts for New Zealand but they failed to capitalise. In the end, the tourists set a 179-run target.

In reply, Pakistan lost three wickets inside the powerplay. The fourth wicket of Shadab fell in the tenth over. The Men in Green will have to believe that they can chase the total down, as they have quite a deep batting line-up.
