Mumbai Indians will take on Chennai Super Kings at the Wankhede Stadium

MI is the most successful team in the history of the IPL, having won the title five times, while CSK has won four. Both teams had a disastrous campaign in the previous IPL season, with CSK finishing ninth and MI finishing tenth spots, respectively.

CSK began their IPL 2023 campaign against the defending champions Gujarat Titans (GT) and lost by five wickets. However, they made an incredible comeback in their second encounter by beating the KL Rahul-led Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by 12 runs at Chepauk. Dhoni smashed two crucial sixes in the match to express bowler Mark Wood down during his short cameo finish.

MI, on the other side, suffered a crushing loss at the hands of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in their first encounter. Despite the absence of their key bowling spearhead, Jasprit Bumrah, they still have match-winners in their lineup. However, despite the loss suffered by the Rohit-led side, MI will aim to open their winning account in front of their home fans on Saturday.
