Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) opener Virat Kohli lit up the Indian Premier League 2026 with a stunning no-look six against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Sunday, April 5 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
The moment came in the fourth over when CSK pacer Matt Henry delivered a length ball outside off stump. Kohli confidently stepped forward and flicked it over mid-wicket with effortless timing. What made the shot extraordinary was his composure, he did not even watch the ball after making contact, only glancing later to see it sail deep into the stands. The crowd erupted instantly, celebrating one of the most stylish strokes of the season.
Kohli contributed a brisk 28 off 18 balls, striking at 155.56, with two boundaries and that memorable six. Earlier in the tournament, he had already made an impact with an unbeaten 69 off 38 balls against Sunrisers Hyderabad, guiding RCB to victory in their opening fixture.

RCB’s batting unit dominated the match, piling up a massive 250/3 in their 20 overs. Devdutt Padikkal set the tone with a fluent 50 off 29 balls, hitting five fours and two sixes. He was well supported later by skipper Rajat Patidar and Tim David, who stitched together a destructive 99-run partnership for the fourth wicket.
Patidar remained unbeaten on 48 from just 19 deliveries, smashing six sixes and a four, while David produced a breathtaking cameo of 70 not out off 25 balls, including eight sixes. Their late assault ensured RCB posted one of the highest totals of the season.
For CSK, Khaleel Ahmed was relatively economical, but bowlers like Anshul Kamboj, Jamie Overton, and Shivam Dube struggled to contain the flow of runs despite picking up a wicket each.
Coming into the match, CSK were under pressure after two consecutive losses, while RCB looked to build momentum in their second outing of the season with a commanding performance.
