Punjab Kings’ skipper Shreyas Iyer was spotted borrowing a pair of shoes from a cameraman before heading to the presentation ceremony after the Kings’ thumping 54-run victory over the Lucknow Super Giants at the New PCA Stadium in Mullanpur on April 19.
Following the game, Shreyas was seen strutting around the ground in slippers. The BCCI protocol states that players are prohibited from attending post-match presentations in slippers or sleeveless jerseys, and violations could lead to significant fines.
A video has been doing the rounds on social media of Iyer borrowing shoes from a nearby cameraman after being alerted of his duties in the post-match presentation.

The Punjab Kings, put into bat, finished their innings with a mammoth 254/7, courtesy of a brilliant 182-run stand off just 80 balls between Priyansh Arya and Cooper Connolly for the second wicket. The pair took the LSG bowlers all around the park, as they hit a whopping 16 maximums in their partnership.
They defended the total comfortably, as their bowlers slowed down the momentum in the middle overs, and never allowed LSG to settle into the chase. With this win, the Kings extend their unbeaten streak to six games and sit comfortably at the top of the table with 11 points.
Speaking in the presentation about the partnership between the two young southpaws, Shreyas expressed his adoration for the way the pair carried on with their batting and played the situation.
“It was exceptional, first of all. Some of the shots I saw were jaw-dropping, honestly speaking. Hitting fast bowlers off the back foot straight, and spinners as well – it takes a lot of courage and composure at the same time, because things can slip at any moment. But the way they built that partnership, especially in the middle overs, it was sensational.”
The Kings now have a six-day break and will return to action on April 25 against the Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
