Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) opener Phil Salt produced a stunning one-handed catch near the boundary to dismiss Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) captain Ishan Kishan at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium during the IPL 2026 clash on March 28.
The moment came on the final ball of the 16th over, bowled by Abhinandan Singh, who delivered a full toss outside off. Kishan attempted to slice it over the infield by opening the face of the bat, but the shot did not find the desired connection. The ball flew wide of Salt, who sprinted to his right and stretched fully to complete a sensational one-handed catch.
Kishan was dismissed for a well-made 80 off 38 balls, an innings that included eight fours and five sixes, before Salt’s brilliance brought it to an end.
Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Nah… it’s Phil Salt flying! 🦅

Speaking about the match, Royal Challengers Bengaluru captain Rajat Patidar won the toss and opted to bowl first at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. Sunrisers Hyderabad posted a competitive total of 201/9 in their 20 overs.
Ishan Kishan anchored the innings brilliantly, leading the charge with a crucial knock. He received good support from Heinrich Klaasen, who scored 31 off 22 balls, and Aniket Verma, who played a quick cameo of 43 off 18 deliveries. Klaasen and Kishan also stitched together an important 97-run partnership off 53 balls for the fourth wicket, which helped SRH recover and build momentum.
For RCB, Romario Shepherd (3/54) and Jacob Duffy (3/22) were the standout performers with the ball, picking up key wickets and putting SRH under pressure early on.
In response, RCB will look to chase down the target with a strong batting lineup featuring Virat Kohli, Phil Salt, Rajat Patidar, Jitesh Sharma, Tim David, Romario Shepherd, Krunal Pandya, and Devdutt Padikkal.
