Sunrisers Hyderabad’s Abhishek Sharma displayed his supreme power-hitting ability in the IPL 2025 clash against Lucknow Super Giants as he hammered four consecutive sixes off Ravi Bishnoi in a single over.

Earlier in the game, after a strong start from LSG openers Mitchell Marsh (65) and Aiden Markram (61), who took them to 115/0, the home team collapsed in the second half of their innings. Despite a late flourish from Nicholas Pooran (45 off 26), the side eventually finished on 205/7. SRH, already eliminated from the playoff race, were looking to play as party poopers. Abhishek, holding one end after the early loss of Atharva Taide, took on the leg-spinner Bishnoi.

The seventh over began with a wide and a single but was followed by Abhishek’s heroics as he hit four consecutive sixes. His three hits went down the ground while the fourth was pulled towards deep midwicket, where Nicholas Pooran seemed set to pluck a stunner only to let the ball burst through his fingers and land beyond the boundary.

In all, Abhishek added 25 runs off just six balls from Bishnoi in that over, scoring at a strike rate of 416.66 against the bowler. He raced to his half-century in just 18 balls, his fourth half-century under 20 balls.

However, LSG’s Digvesh Rathi dismissed Abhishek with a googly that tempted the batter into a mistimed shot over extra cover as the southpaw walked back after a stunning 59 off 20.

Following picking the wicket, Rathi and Abhishek exchanged a few words, forcing the umpires to intervene.
