Young batter Swastik Chikara has been enjoying his time with Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the ongoing IPL 2025, which is also his debut season in the league. The cricketer has openly said that he treats RCB and India international Virat Kohli as his big brother and always likes being around the legendary batter. However, the latter seems to be a bit annoyed with the way Swastik keeps tailing around him inside the dressing room.

“If you could share one teammate from RCB who would be a great roommate to have or someone that you wouldn’t want to bunk with, who would it be and why, Virat?” he was asked recently.

“I wouldn’t say it’s Swastik Chikara. Because he doesn’t leave me alone, so, definitely not him,” Kohli replied in a video released by RCB on social media.

But the 36-year-old said that someone who is really funny, and he wouldn’t mind sharing a room with, would be stumper-batter Jitesh Sharma. Virat reckons Jitesh hasn’t opened up well with him so far, but he seems to be impressed with the street-smartness the Vidarbha cricketer shows on the field.

“But one guy I think is really funny, but he’s not opened up with me properly, is Jitesh [Sharma]. I would want to see that really fun, raw side of him because I can see it in his eyes, he’s got that mischief about him. He’s very street smart, you can see on the field, he finds different ways of looking at things. So, I would like to get to know him more,” he told about the wicketkeeper-batter.

Speaking of Swastik, the youngster is yet to make a mark in the IPL, since he hasn’t gotten a game so far, despite making headlines during the Uttar Pradesh T20 League. The Ghaziabad-born has been a part of the Delhi Capitals squad previously and represents his home state UP in the domestic arena. Jitesh, on the other hand, has been a veteran in T20 cricket, and has had a terrific season with RCB, after being roped in for a whopping INR 11 crore at the mega auction.
