As the Indian players were heading to the team bus after the final Test against England, a light-hearted moment outside the stadium captured everyone’s attention. A young fan enthusiastically shouted, ‘Jaiswal, Jaiswal’, as opener Yashasvi Jaiswal left the ground.

Hearing the chant, left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh, who was walking alongside Jaiswal, playfully mimicked the fan in a high-pitched voice, leaving Jaiswal in splits.

Speaking of Jaiswal, the young opener had an impressive series against England. He featured in all five Tests, scoring 411 runs at an average of 41.10, including two centuries and two fifties. Meanwhile, Arshdeep, yet to make his Test debut, remained on the sidelines throughout the series but was actively involved with the squad.

Arshdeep is expected to make his mark in the upcoming Asia Cup 2025, which set to begin on September 9 in the UAE. He is likely to spearhead India’s bowling attack in the T20I-format tournament, which will serve as preparation for the 2026 T20 World Cup, to be held in India and Sri Lanka. Meanwhile, Jaiswal’s spot in the Asia Cup squad is uncertain, as Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson are strong contenders for the opening positions.

Speaking of India’s performance in Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025, they secured a thrilling six-run victory over England in a dramatic finish at The Oval in the fifth and final Test match. The win secured a 2-2 draw in a fiercely contested five-Test series that spanned six weeks.

The right-arm pacer Mohammed Siraj was the star of the final day, taking 5 wickets for 104 runs. His final wicket, that of Gus Atkinson, ended England’s innings and earned Siraj the Player of the Match award. He finished as the leading wicket-taker on the tour, claiming 23 wickets.
