The wicketkeeper-batter stepped out against Matthew Forde and launched a humongous six over long-on, and the shot drew even more attention because Fletcher did not bother to watch where the ball was heading after making contact.

The CPL’s official X account shared the clip of the no-look six, and it quickly spread among cricket fans. Forde, who is the leading wicket-taker in CPL 2026, was the bowler on the receiving end. Fletcher picked the fourth over to use his feet and clear the long-on boundary with complete disregard for where the ball would land.

Fletcher’s innings and the viral no-look moment

Fletcher was batting at No. 3 and was in full flow throughout his stay. He scored 64 off 38 balls, hitting six fours and four sixes in total. The Patriots reached 59 for 1 at the end of the powerplay, with Fletcher’s boundary-hitting a central part of that scoring rate.

This was not the first time Fletcher had impressed against the Kings in CPL 2026. In the 5th match of the tournament on August 12, 2026, at Gros Islet, he scored an unbeaten 48 off 41 balls against the same opposition and was named Player of the Match as the Patriots won by five wickets.

After Fletcher’s dismissal, Dasun Shanaka carried the innings to extraordinary heights. Shanaka brought up a half-century off just 24 balls and went on to score an unbeaten 121, a knock described as the fastest century in CPL history. He began his assault with consecutive leg-side sixes off Roston Chase before targeting Forde as well. Forde finished with figures of 2 for 48.

The Patriots posted 235 for 4 in their allotted overs. The Kings’ reply fell well short, as they were bowled out for 98. Alzarri Joseph’s teammate Dominic Louis was the wrecker-in-chief with the ball, returning figures of 5 for 10. Michael Nedd took 2 for 24, and Wanindu Hasaranga added 2 for 25. Tim Seifert top-scored for the Kings with 50.
