Legendary cricketer Virat Kohli achieved a remarkable milestone at the ODI World Cup 2023, scoring his 50th ODI century in the semi-final of the tournament against New Zealand. Surpassing the legendary Sachin Tendulkar’s tally, Kohli’s 50th ODI ton was celebrated across the country.

Kohli’s achievement was such a huge milestone that the moment was even featured at the prestigious Laureus World Sports Awards held in Palacio de Cibeles in Madrid, Spain, on Monday (April 22).

The clip of Kohli hitting his 50th ODI century in a clip that featured Laureus’ epic moments of the year. Furthermore, the moment where Travis Head took the catch to dismiss Rohit Sharma in the ODI World Cup 2023 final was featured in the compilation as well.

Despite the Indian team’s marvellous performances in the ODI World Cup, where the hosts remained unbeaten until the final, they slipped and lost the summit clash of the marquee tournament to the Pat Cummins-led Australia in a heartbreaking final.

Kohli continues to impress in franchise cricket

Speaking of Virat Kohli, the ace batter is currently fulfilling his duties with Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the ongoing season of the IPL (Indian Premier League) 2024. It is safe to say that Kohli has been in brilliant form for his side in the tournament.

The ace batter is the current Orange Cap holder (highest run-getter) of the IPL 2024, with 379 runs to his name in eight matches. However, despite his constant efforts, RCB have failed to build around Kohli’s innings in several of their matches.

Currently, the side finds itself on the wrong end of the IPL 2024 standings as they sit on 10th place with just one win in eight matches. With two points to their name, RCB have been nearly eliminated from the tournament, with no hopes for a qualification to the knockout stages.
