Virat Kohli was seen conversing with Prince Yadav and Bharat Arun after the end of the IPL 2026 clash between the Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Lucknow Super Giants at the BRSABV Ekana Cricket Stadium on Thursday, May 7.
In a rain-curtailed 19-over-per-side contest, Lucknow posted 209/3 in the first innings on the back of Mitchell Marsh’s scintillating century. Skipper Rishabh Pant and Nicholas Pooran also chipped in with important contributions to take their team to a mammoth total.
In reply, Mohammed Shami dismissed Jacob Bethell in the first over itself. However, one of the highlights of the encounter came in the following over. Prince, who has been impressive throughout the seaon, followed up an outswinger with a nipbacker that drew Kohli forward before sneaking through the gap between bat and pad to uproot the off-stump. The legendary batter was out for a two-ball duck. This was the first duck he registered in the IPL since 2023.
The cracking delivery was bowled at 140.4 kph. Prince will surely cherish this dismissal forever as he got the better of one of the finest batters of all time and the leading run-getter in IPL history. The right-arm seamer dismissed Devdutt Padikkal and Jitesh Sharma later in the innings to finish with figures of 3/33 in four overs.
“After the last match, I was talking to Virat bhaiya and he only told me – as long as it’s moving around off a length, stick to that length,” Prince told in a video posted by IPL.
Lucknow eventually won the match by nine runs as Digvesh Singh Rathi successfully defended the 20 needed by the visitors in the final over.
After the match ended on Thursday at the Ekana, Kohli was seen in a light-hearted interaction with Prince and the LSG bowling coach, Bharat Arun. The former India and RCB captain was seen laughing around and even placed his hand on the shoulders of the 24-year-old speedster, seemingly applauding him for bowling a peach of a delivery.

Prince is well and truly in the race for the Purple Cap. In 10 matches, he has picked up 16 wickets at an economy rate of 8.08. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Anshul Kamboj are at the top of the list with 17 scalps from 10 games each.
