Experienced batter Siddhesh Lad will be leading a strong 16-member line-up for Mumbai in the knockouts of the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26. The Mumbai Cricket Association officially unveiled the squad on Sunday, January 11, as the side prepares to play the quarter-final on Monday, in an epic face-off against the defending champions Karnataka. Mainstay skipper Shardul Thakur is unavailable.

Lad, who has been a feature of the Mumbai squad across formats, brings significant leadership experience. He has been a regular presence in List-A cricket for Mumbai, scoring over 1500 runs in 44 innings. The batting line-up is further taken care of by Sarfaraz Khan, one of the most reliable batters going on right now. His younger brother Musheer Khan also bolsters the batting unit.

The squad features Akash Anand, who will be assigned with gloves behind the stumps. Anand has been named as the primary stumper-batter, while Hardik Tamore will act as his backup. Additionally, youngsters Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Suryansh Shedge have also been included, and will look to add further value to the dressing room.

Apart from Shedge, the pacer-cum batter, Mumbai’s line-up also features seasoned all-rounders like Tanush Kotian and Shams Mulani. Both the spin-bowling all-rounders will be accompanied by options like Atharva Ankolekar, the southpaw, providing depth and further options to an already power-packed line-up.

The pace battery would be led by Tushar Deshpande. He is supported by Mohit Avasthi, Ishan Mulchandani, and Shashank Attarde, providing the luxury of multiple seam options as per the conditions’ demand. Furthermore, young fast bowlers like Onkar Tarmale and Sairaj Patil have also been included, aiding the squad’s pace attack.

Even though Mumbai are without the India stars Rohit Sharma, Shreyas Iyer, Suryakumar Yadav, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Shivam Dube due to their national commitments, they have composed a balanced squad with a combination of established performers and emerging stars. Mumbai will look to maintain their strong record in the Vijay Hazare Trophy as they enter the knockout stage, aiming for another title push.
