Two balls. That was how long it took Ravindra Jadeja to pick up a wicket for the Rajasthan Royals on his much-awaited return. Talk about sweet homecomings.

Bowling the eighth over in the third IPL match between the Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings, Jadeja, in his first over, dismissed Sarfaraz Khan, trapping him plumb in front. Sarfaraz attempted to sweep a length ball which turned away and found himself beaten under the bat, with the ball hitting his back.

The umpire showed no hesitation in raising his finger, and the ball was shown hitting the top of the middle stump on the review taken by Sarfaraz. The first wicket for the veteran all-rounder after his return to the pink of the Royals, coming against his old franchise. At that point, the Super Kings found themselves reeling at 51/5.

And one scalp soon became two. Jadeja’s dream first over of the game saw him pick up one more wicket, that too of the dangerous Shivam Dube. Going full and wide after being hit for a six three balls prior, Dube launched the tempting delivery high in the air but was only able to find Ravi Bishnoi, who was stationed at long-off for the catch. CSK found themselves at 57/6 at the end of Jadeja’s over.
