Saim Ayub was dismissed on the second legal delivery of the ongoing Match No. 4 of the Asia Cup 2025 between Pakistan and Oman at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Friday, September 12. This dismissal marked Ayub’s second first-baller in the 40 T20I innings he has played up until now.
Shah Faisal got the delivery to slant in on a middle and leg stump. Ayub ambitiously went down on his feet and tried to play the pick-up shot while lying low. However, he played all over it and ended up completely missing the line of the ball. Even a review could not save him, as third umpire replay confirmed the ball to be crashing into the middle stump. At last, Ayub had to make his way back to the crease earlier than he would have thought.

His opening partner Sahibzada Farhan (29 off 29) anchored the second-wicket stand along with wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Haris (66 off 43), who played the role of the aggressor. Pakistan ended their innings with 160 for the loss of seven wickets. Oman will have to chase this down in their allotted 20 overs to get their campaign off to a winning start.
