Rashid Khan struck in his very first over to pull Afghanistan back into the contest against Bangladesh on September 16 in Abu Dhabi.
Earlier, Bangladesh captain Litton Das had won the toss and elected to bat first. The opening pair of Saif Hassan and Tanzid Hasan Tamim gave their side an excellent start, adding 63 runs for the first wicket with fluent stroke play.
Just when the partnership looked threatening, the Afghan skipper introduced himself into the attack right after the powerplay. On only his fourth delivery, he produced a classic googly that completely deceived Saif.
Attempting a big slog, Saif was beaten all ends up as the ball went through and rattled the off stump. The Afghan talisman celebrated with a stare while Saif made the long walk back to the pavilion, breaking a crucial stand and giving Afghanistan much-needed momentum.
