In an exclusive interaction with CricTracker, USA pacer Jasdeep Singh revealed his list of the top five pacers of all time, which notably included two Indian fast bowlers. Jasdeep, who has picked up 82 wickets across formats for the United States while maintaining an economy rate of under six in ODIs and under nine in T20Is, shared his admiration for some of the greatest fast bowlers to have played the game.

Leading his list was Indian veteran Mohammed Shami, whom Jasdeep praised for his mastery over seam and swing with both the new and old ball. Shami has consistently delivered on the biggest stages for India, particularly in ICC tournaments. During the 2015 ODI World Cup, he claimed 17 wickets at an average of 17.29, followed by 14 wickets at 13.78 in the 2019 edition. His most dominant performance came in the 2023 ODI World Cup, where he finished as the tournament’s leading wicket-taker with 24 wickets at a staggering average of 10.70. While Shami has taken 27 wickets in T20Is, he has been especially impactful in Tests and ODIs.

Jasdeep also named Jasprit Bumrah as another Indian pacer on his all-time list. Bumrah, regarded as one of the most skilful fast bowlers India has ever produced, rose through the domestic circuit and the Indian Premier League while representing Mumbai Indians. He etched his name in history by becoming the fastest Indian to 200 Test wickets and the first bowler to reach the milestone at an average below 20. In T20Is, Bumrah has taken 107 wickets in 87 matches, maintaining an economy rate under seven and an average of 18.82.

The former Pakistan speedster Shoaib Akhtar was Jasdeep’s third choice, remembered for his raw pace and ability to intimidate batters. Akhtar finished his international career with 444 wickets across formats. Australian left-arm quick Mitchell Starc was named fourth, with Jasdeep highlighting his ability to dominate across formats. Starc, who has retired from T20 internationals, has taken 759 wickets in international cricket.

Rounding off the list was England legend James Anderson, widely regarded as one of the greatest fast bowlers in Test history. Known for his longevity and control, Anderson ended his illustrious career with 991 international wickets, including 704 wickets in 188 Test matches.
