Women’s international cricket has produced several prolific batters whose run tallies span Tests, ODIs and T20Is. The all-time list sees a mix of players from India, New Zealand, England and the West Indies in the top five.

On September 3 2026, Smriti Mandhana moved to the top of that list during the Women’s T20 Asia Cup 2026 in Dubai, surpassing a record that had stood for some time. Here is a look at the five leading run-getters in women’s international cricket.

Stafanie Taylor is a West Indies all-rounder who has crossed 10,000 runs in women’s international cricket, placing her fifth on the all-time list with 10,007 runs. Taylor has been the cornerstone of West Indies women’s cricket for many years, contributing with both bat and ball. She has represented the West Indies in ODIs and T20Is and has been one of the most influential players in the Caribbean region’s women’s cricket setup. Her milestone of 10,000 international runs marks her as one of the few women cricketers to reach that landmark across all formats combined.

Charlotte Edwards is a former England captain and batter who occupies fourth place on the all-time run-scoring list in women’s international cricket. She scored 10,273 runs across her career, which included appearances in Tests, ODIs and T20Is. Edwards was a central figure in England women’s cricket for well over a decade and led the side in multiple formats. Her career spanned a period of significant growth in the women’s game, and she was regarded as one of England’s most reliable batters during her time. She has since moved into coaching and commentary roles after retiring from international cricket.

3. Suzie Bates – 10,740 runs

Suzie Bates is a New Zealand batter who sits third on the all-time run-scoring list in women’s international cricket. She has accumulated 10,740 runs across her career, spanning ODIs and T20Is. Bates had been one of New Zealand’s most consistent performers at the top of the order for many years till her retirement after the 2026 Women’s T20 World Cup. Her longevity and ability to perform across formats made her a key figure in women’s cricket globally. Her position on the all-time list reflects a career built on sustained output rather than isolated performances.

2. Mithali Raj – 10,868 runs

Mithali Raj is a former India captain and one of the most decorated batters in women’s cricket history. She accumulated 10,868 runs across her international career, a tally that stood as the all-time record until September 2026. Raj reached that mark in 333 international innings, a figure that underlines the consistency she maintained over a long career. She played across all three formats and captained India in numerous major tournaments. When Mandhana broke her record during the Women’s T20 Asia Cup 2026, Raj publicly congratulated her. Raj’s contribution to Indian women’s cricket extends well beyond statistics, as she was central to the team’s growth over two decades. Her tally of 10,868 runs remains the second-highest in women’s international cricket.

Mandhana scored 124 off 64 balls in that match against Hong Kong, taking her career aggregate to 10,880 runs in 303 international innings. The record-breaking moment came with a hat-trick of sixes off bowler Ruchitha Venkatesh, as she passed Mithali Raj’s previous tally of 10,868. The same innings also made Mandhana the leading century-maker in women’s international cricket, with 18 international centuries, moving past Meg Lanning and Laura Wolvaardt who each had 17. Her 124 is also the highest individual score in the Women’s T20 Asia Cup, surpassing Chamari Athapaththu’s previous record of an unbeaten 119 against Malaysia in 2024.
