The WPL 2027 mini-auction took place at the Grand Hyatt hotel in Kochi on October 28, 2026, with 40 slots up for grabs across the five franchises. Sophie Molineux emerged as the most expensive pick of the evening at ₹1.10 crore, yet several players went under the hammer at prices that looked far below their actual worth.
Among the standout value picks were Jess Jonassen, Grace Harris, G Kamalini, Sneh Rana and Kathryn Bryce, each of whom brought considerable international pedigree to their new sides for modest sums. UP Warriorz were identified as the busiest buyers on the night, snapping up multiple players from this list.
1. Jess Jonassen

Jess Jonassen arrived at the 2027 WPL mini-auction having spent the first three WPL seasons with Delhi Capitals, and Royal Challengers Bengaluru secured her services for just ₹40 lakh, which was her base price. She was RCB’s first buy of the night, picked up more than two hours into proceedings during the accelerated round.
The Australian left-arm spinner and all-rounder carries a T20I record of 95 wickets at an average of 19.26 and an economy rate of 5.66. With the bat, she contributed 558 runs across 2026 at an average of 39.85, underlining her value as a genuine two-dimensional cricketer at a fraction of what her numbers might command. Her flexibility offers options to the defending champions on how they can construct their team.
2. Grace Harris

Grace Harris joined UP Warriorz for ₹30 lakh after being released by Royal Challengers Bengaluru ahead of the 2027 auction. The Australian power-hitting middle-order batter also offers seam bowling, giving UP Warriorz a versatile option in the lower-middle order. Harris had previously cost ₹75 lakh during her time at RCB, making her 2027 price a significant drop for a player of her calibre.
Harris is regarded as one of the most impactful batters in the women’s game, and she can add the much-needed firepower to the top order for the Warriorz.
3. G Kamalini

Wicketkeeper-batter G Kamalini was picked up by Gujarat Giants for ₹40 lakh, matching her base price, after Mumbai Indians released her ahead of the 2027 auction. The left-handed top-order batter had originally been bought by Mumbai Indians for ₹1.60 crore at the WPL 2025 auction in Bengaluru on December 15, 2024, following a bidding war with Delhi Capitals, when her base price was just ₹10 lakh.
Kamalini’s participation in the 2027 season could face hindrances in the form of the 2027 Women’s Under-19 World Cup, which clashes with the WPL season. However, she is a potential future star, and a player that the Giants could build the core of their team around.
4. Sneh Rana

Although Sneh Rana went unsold at the WPL 2025 auction in December 2024, UP Warriorz moved quickly to sign the experienced Indian off-spinning all-rounder for ₹30 lakh, her base price, at the 2027 mini-auction. Rana’s T20I record stands at 24 wickets at an average of 21.75 and an economy rate of 6.21, and her lower-order batting adds further depth to the side.
Rana offers a reliable Indian all-round option for the Warriorz, helping them construct their side in a balanced manner. An experienced player with the national side, she adds vital experience and leadership skills to the group.
5. Kathryn Bryce

Scotland captain Kathryn Bryce was the most eye-catching value pick of the night, signed by UP Warriorz for just ₹10 lakh, her base price. The top-order batter and seam bowler holds a T20I record of 36 wickets at an economy rate of 4.29. In 2026, she scored a 39-ball 60 and claimed two wickets in Scotland’s maiden T20 World Cup victory, and earlier that year she struck 63 off 33 balls against the Netherlands.
As a player from an Associate nation, Bryce can be fielded as a fifth overseas player in the XI, beyond the standard four-overseas limit, which adds to her appeal for UP Warriorz. She had previously featured for Gujarat Giants in WPL 2024.
