Top 3 RCB batters to watch out for in IPL 2024

Royal Challengers Bangalore had the best IPL 2024 auction in terms of picking the best batters and bowlers. Their shortcoming has been their bowling unit and while they picked the best of the pacers available for the upcoming IPL season, RCB fell short of bringing in the best spinners in their unit.

However, still with the likes of Virat Kohli, skipper Faf du Plessis, Cameron Green, Dinesh Karthik, and other batters, RCB will hope to win their maiden title. With such a strong batting side and now an equally good bowling unit as well, RCB will fancy its chances in the upcoming IPL 2024.

Here are three batters to watch out for in Royal Challengers Bangalore:

3. Rajat Patidar

Rajat Patidar had missed the IPL 2023 due to an Achilles injury. He was still retained by the RCB side before the IPL 2024 auction, showing that the franchise had a lot of trust in his abilities. Ever since he made that century in the playoffs in Eden Gardens, new doors opened for the Madhya Pradesh batter.

Patidar has since made his India ODI and Test debut for India as well and he will be eager and hungry for a good season as well. A good outing for the Madhya Pradesh batter might open the doors for the T20 World Cup 2024 as well.

2. Glenn Maxwell

Australia’s Glenn Maxwell has admitted that he will play in the IPL till he is physically able to. Though his initial few years with Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings were mediocre, since he joined the RCB franchise, we have seen a different Maxwell altogether. This Maxwell enjoys his time playing for the team in the IPL and loves the company of Virat Kohli Faf du Plessis and other players. 

In three seasons for RCB, Maxwell has scored 1’214 runs at a strike rate of 161.43 and an average of 34.68. He has hit 12 fifties with a best score of 78, hitting 67 sixes and 108 fours. Maxwell has become an integral part of the franchise and expect him to be a huge factor in RCB’s success in IPL 2024.

1. Virat Kohli

Former captain of RCB, Virat Kohli rediscovered his form in IPL 2023. He hammered 639 runs in 14 games with two centuries at a strike rate of 139.52 and he averaged 53.25. It was a shame that RCB failed to qualify for the playoffs last season. It would have provided Virat Kohli with the needed motivation to go all the way. But expect that to happen in IPL 2024 as Kohli will once again try to fulfill his dream of winning the IPL with the RCB team.
