

Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President Mithun Manhas sent Team India best wishes ahead of kickstarting their 2026 Women’s T20 World Cup against Pakistan on Sunday, June 14. The Women in Blue will be looking to win their second consecutive ICC tournament after already securing the Women’s World Cup on home soil in 2025.
Manhas spoke highly of the women’s side’s recent on-field success, which has inspired an entire generation of fans in the country. The former player urges the squad to unite, play for the nation, bring more laurels to the country and make each citizen proud.

India have been drawn alongside Pakistan, Australia, Bangladesh, South Africa and the Netherlands in what is a difficult group. Harmanpreet Kaur’s side will need to finish in the top two to make sure they advance through to the knockout stages of the tournament.
