‘The nation stands firmly behind you’ – BCCI President Mithun Manhas send his best wishes ahead of India’s 2026 Women’s T20 World Cup campaign

Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President Mithun Manhas sent Team India best wishes ahead of kickstarting their 2026 Women’s T20 World Cup against Pakistan on Sunday, June 14. The Women in Blue will be looking to win their second consecutive ICC tournament after already securing the Women’s World Cup on home soil in 2025.

Manhas spoke highly of the women’s side’s recent on-field success, which has inspired an entire generation of fans in the country. The former player urges the squad to unite, play for the nation, bring more laurels to the country and make each citizen proud.

Dear Members of the Indian Women’s Cricket Team, As you continue to represent our nation with pride, passion, and determination, I extend my heartfelt best wishes to each one of you. Your dedication, resilience, and commitment to excellence have inspired millions across the country and have significantly contributed to the growth of women’s cricket in India,” Manhas posted on X, formerly Twitter. 

Every match presents an opportunity to showcase your talent, teamwork, and fighting spirit. Have faith in your abilities, support one another, and continue to play the game with confidence and pride. The entire cricketing fraternity and the nation stands firmly behind you. May your hard work be rewarded with success, and may you continue to make India proud through your performances on and off the field. Wishing you the very best  !!

India have been drawn alongside Pakistan, Australia, Bangladesh, South Africa and the Netherlands in what is a difficult group. Harmanpreet Kaur’s side will need to finish in the top two to make sure they advance through to the knockout stages of the tournament.
