The 43rd game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 featured a clash between Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Ekana Sports City Stadium in Lucknow. However, more so than Bangalore’s win, the heated altercation between Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir grabbed everyone’s attention.

After Bangalore defeated Lucknow by 18 runs in the game, Kohli and Gambhir got into an argument over the former RCB skipper constantly calling out Lucknow batters during the run chase. With many experts and former cricketers giving their take on the verbal spat between Kohli and Gambhir, many opined that the two players should sit together and work out their differences. However, former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh took to Twitter and gave a hilarious take on the altercation.

Putting out a tweet, Yuvraj Singh opined that Sprite should sign both Kohli and Gambhir for their upcoming ‘Thand Rakh’ campaign and even tagged the two players in the tweet. “I think #Sprite should sign #Gauti and #Cheeku for their campaign #ThandRakh. What say guys? @GautamGambhir @imVkohli @Sprite,” Yuvraj Singh tweeted.

Fans continue to troll Gambhir for altercation

After the heated fight between Kohli and Gambhir in Lucknow, Gambhir has still been feeling the heat from the fans. In Lucknow’s last game against the four-time champions Chennai Super Kings, several fans chanted Kohli’s name and directed it towards Gambhir.

The 41-year-old was climbing the stairs of the stadium when he noticed the fans chanting Kohli’s name. The Lucknow mentor gave a death stare to the fans before he walked inside the stadium. Furthermore, he also got into an online feud with journalist Rajat Sharma on Twitter.

With the BCCI imposing heavy fines on Kohli, Gambhir, and Naveen-ul-Haq, there were several reports that the franchises would be paying the fine and none of the players would have to pay from their own pockets. Kohli and Gambhir were fined 100% of their match fees for their verbal brawl.
