Google CEO Sundar Pichai is an avid fan of the sport, and this is not the first time he has donned the commentator’s hat for a game of cricket.

For the T20 World Cup 2026 clash between India and South Africa at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Pichai is one of the esteemed guests in attendance. He brought the coveted trophy to the field alongside the legendary Sunil Gavaskar before the start of the encounter. Later, he was seen commentating on the game alongside former India head coach Ravi Shastri.

During his commentary stint, he not only spoke about the ongoing clash but also revealed his admiration for Gavaskar. He mentioned that he had posters of the former India captain on his walls. Pichai also added that he has been a fan of the sport from a very young age.

Later, Shastri took to his official ‘X’ (Formerly Twitter) handle and explained his experience of commentating on the match with Pichai.

“Great to have a Tech Giant @sundarpichai in the comm box. He’s an avid cricket fan and with an amazing memory for facts and figures,” Shastri wrote.
