The Birmingham Bears, the T20 side of Warwickshire County Cricket Club, will be renamed Birmingham Polar Bears for the 2023 T20 Blast in England. The side changed the name, intending to become the most sustainable cricket stadium in the UK and a fully net zero venue by 2030, according to the side.

On Saturday, April 1, Birmingham Bears took to Twitter and tweeted they have been renamed as Birmingham Polar Bears. Notably, they even changed their official Twitter handle’s name to Birmingham Polar Bears.

“Birmingham Bears to be named Birmingham Polar Bears for 2023 campaign. The change aligns with our goal to be a fully net zero venue by 2030 and the most sustainable cricket stadium in the UK,” the club tweeted.
