A recent development has surfaced online, suggesting that Suryakumar Yadav will be missing the Mumbai Indians versus Royal Challengers Bengaluru game in the ongoing IPL 2026 on Sunday, May 10, in Raipur. Suryakumar and his wife Devisha Shetty are expecting the delivery of their first baby, which is the reason the MI vice-captain may not be available to feature in the all-important clash.
Suryakumar being unavailable due to familial commitments and Hardik Pandya still recuperating from a back spasm means that MI might play with their third captain of the season against RCB on Sunday. Suryakumar had led Mumbai against the Lucknow Super Giants as Hardik picked up a back spasm. With both cricketers expected to be out of the RCB clash, ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah is the frontrunner to lead.
According to reports, the franchise or the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have not made any official statement regarding Suryakumar ahead of the MI vs RCB clash, which is slated to be played at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium.
