Deepak Chahar’s sister Malti came forward and lambasted the critics after her brother injured himself during Chennai Super Kings’ recent game against Punjab Kings. Both sides locked horns in the 49th game of the tournament at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Wednesday, May 1.

In the first over of the second innings, Chahar began his spell with a dot ball before Prabhsimran Singh smashed him for a boundary. However, the third ball of the over saw the pacer limping, and after a chat with skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad, Chahar walked off the pitch. Shardul Thakur bowled the remaining four balls of Chahar’s over.

After the 31-year-old’s injury, many experts criticised his fitness. However, his sister, Malti, took to X (formerly known as Twitter) and came to her brother’s defence, opining that everyone should be supportive of him instead of being insensitive.

“Stop being so insensitive guys! Nobody is enjoying these injuries! He is trying his best and he will comeback stronger!” Malti Chahar tweeted.

Stop being so insensitive guys!
Nobody is enjoying these injuries!
He is trying his best and he will comeback stronger! #stoptrolling
