Rinku Singh’s stunning knock helped Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) win a thrilling game against Gujarat Titans (GT) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 on Sunday, April 9. When KKR needed 28 off five balls in the last over, Rinku struck five consecutive sixes to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat against the reigning champions at the Narendra Modi Stadium, in Ahmedabad. Rinku Singh’s batting heroics piloted KKR’s thrilling last-over win over GT

Coming to the match, GT stand-in skipper Rashid Khan won the toss and chose to bat first. The defending champions set a 205-run target for the two-time champions, with Sai Sudharsan (53 off 38) and Vijay Shankar’s (63* off 24) fiery half-centuries set up the match for the defending champions. For KKR, Sunil Narine claimed a three-wicket haul while Impact Player Suyash Sharma took one wicket.

KKR was never going to have an easy time chasing 205 in 20 overs. Despite Venkatesh Iyer’s 40-ball 83, the visitors were no closer to winning the match when Rashid Khan’s mind-boggling first hat-trick of the season, almost sealed the match of the season. However, Rinku Singh took matters into his hands and whacked five sixes in a row in the last over to register a thrilling three-wicket win over the hosts, making it one of the most thrilling final overs in the history of the cash-rich league.
